The McLeod Family Foundation
Founded in 1989, the foundation’s mission is to make a lifetime difference in the lives of children and families in the Roanoke Valley. Since 2009 the foundation has given over $100,000 in financial assistance to organizations that help children and families. These organizations include Family Services of the Roanoke Valley, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Roanoke Valley. Family Services of the Roanoke Valley has provided critical human services to residents since 1901. Big Brothers and Big Sisters provides positive adult role models to at-risk children.
The HoneyTree Foundation
The Foundation’s goal is to build awareness and support for Nationally Accredited Childcare Businesses located in the Roanoke Valley. Since our founding in 2009 we have worked to increase the number of children enrolled in nationally accredited child care programs, increase awareness of the importance of early learning and afterschool programs, and worked at both state and local levels to improve opportunities in the Roanoke Valley.
